They’re real! I promise!

Okay, okay, okay, yes it’s taken me a few years to jump onto the Benefit They’re Real bandwagon, but I’ve been preoccupied, alright?

Slacking aside, I got a mini They’re Real mascara in my advent calendar this month and I have a few things to say about it.

Walking past this in the shops, I was always wowed by the advertising. You know the one – the image of the girl with nothing to everything. Does this mascara really do what the photo claims? I don’t think so (don’t hate me). Yes, the brush elongates the lashes and the little spikey bit at the end is great for the outer lashes, but I’m just not seeing any magical transformations.

Creme Eye Liner Made Easy

Easy peasy lemon squeezy. That's what this blog post is.

Laura Mercier's Creme Eyeliner in Graphite has made life easy. As a make-up lover, I have a confession. I am RUBBISH and I mean rubbish at eye liner. Kohl, I can do, but gel/liquid, is a big fat no.

So this is where the Creme Eyeliner comes into play. First of all it is dreamy and creamy and all things good. It is a great consistency - not too wet, and not too dry, which makes it easy for that swipe on across the lid.

The Simple Things in Life

Today we are taking it back to basics. I had an itch to write a new blog post and was staring at the mountain of products in front of me wondering what to write about and the answer was right in front of me.

Simple's Regeneration Age Resisting Eye Cream. *Cue Angels singing*.

Ever since I started smearing my face with anti-blemish creams, serums, gels,  (you name it - i've done it), I began to notice lines (tiny, absolutely tiny) around my eyes! Gasp!

A Body SOS.

What products do you grab when you are in need of a pick me up? Meet mine.

Here are my go-to products when I'm feeling a little funky! This morning, my body was itchy, my hair resembled candy floss and my face was dull. G R E A T! So instead of wallowing in my own self-loathing, I decided to grab my favourite products to ban these blighters and run myself a bath!

Powder Puff.

Aloha beauty babes!

I am currently standing on a packed train with an armpit in my face and a belly in my back, and things are starting to get a little shiny, so let's talk powder.

The Cheek of It!

Let's talk about cheeks. Cheeks. Cheeks. Cheeks.

I have stumbled across Laura Mercier Creme Cheek Colour in Praline, and oh my my it is amazing.

Sensuous Sundays

I don't know why I hadn't thought of writing this before as this is one of my all time favourite make-up items *gasp*.

Introducing Estee Lauder's Pure Colour Blush in Sensuous Rose... Ta Dah!!

So it looks a little orangey in this photo but it's actually more of a burnt/brick colour, and on the skin - it's absolutely devine.

I'm quite pale and I was always put off by this colour but trust me when I say that this stuff is transforming! It comes out quite bronzing on the skin, so you could use it as a bronzer - however as a blush/bronze its absolutely b-e-a-utiful! The satin finish of the powder leaves it looking non-cakey but almost airbrushed on the skin (what a delight), and you need the tiniest, and I mean the tiniest bit ever as the colour pay off is amazing.

I've recently been multi-tasking with this little wonder and been using in on my eyes in the crease and blending it out with a blending brush for that ever so slightly more golden goddess defined look!

Give it a try and I promise you will not be disappointed!

Smokey Joes!

I'd been a little hesitant about writing this post as I thought it would be a little boring.. but then I thought  'hey?! this isn't boring - this is BRILLIANT!!'.

I'm not the kind of girl to change up my mascara - eyelashes are my thang people. I'm all about the big long, thick, fluttery eyelashes. It's a thing which I have down to an art - all through the same mascara I've been using since I was 16 (it MUST be good).

I was forced (not really) to try a new mascara which I got for my birthday which is Bobbi Brown's Smokey Eye Mascara. It promises thicker, fuller and bolder lashes - and the promise is kept. I would say the mascara is almost like a fibre mascara - it leaves the eyelashes looking dry - but not too dry, more like feathery.

When applying, the medium sized wand somehow does all of this work while separating your lashes (miracle) - and this it's why its brilliant - not boring.

I would highly recommend this mascara if you're looking to try something different. It retails at £22.50, but is totally worth it and I have a feeling will last a really long time as a little bit goes a long way!

Until next time lashes lovers,

Smoothie Star.

Hello there beauty lovers... I'm back sooner rather than later, but only because I couldn't resist writing about this!

I'm not a huge fan of Soap and Glory, nor am I a huge fan of jumping on the beauty bandwagon of popular products, however I'd been contemplating buying Soap and Glory's Smoothie Star's Body Buttercream for a few months and I finally took the plunge.

Where. Do. I. Start? I'm obsessed with this product, and I hate body products!! Its true! To kick things off... the best thing about this is its smell. Oh em gee, the super nourishing formula of pistachio, almond and vanilla is absolutely the best thing to grace my nose, and it lasts even on the skin! The texture of the cream claims to be lightly whipped... and it is -  a little goes a long way! It rubs smoothly into the skin, with that superb non-greasy feeling, and it also does its job! Moisture moisture moisture!

The tub is huge and is sold across Boots stores for the retail price of ten pounds, and I think it is imperative that I mention this baby is a dupe for the Laura Mercier Creme Souffle's which are £40+ a pop!

This is seriously worth the investment and I promise you won't be disappointed!

Lots of love!

I'm back, back again, tell a friend.

Guess who's back with a brand new rap.... er, i mean blog ;)

Eminem aside, I'd like to apologise to myself, and my loyal readers (my mum) for abandoning my site of wordly wonders... I've been busy and thats my only excuse!

Now that I'm a free agent from the never ending years of University, it's that time again where I pick up my pen and start writing... or in this case.. typing.

Today I decided to 'Shop my Stash'. For those of you who don't know, SMS is where you 'shop' through your old make-up that you have forgotten about and see what wonders you can reuse! Theres something exciting about this... unless you don't like make-up then you'll think I'm a little weird.. but nevertheless, I've just got excited about a whole range of things and thought I'd share them with you!

So here we go...

First up is my beloved MAC palette. The third down, second across is Sable eyeshadow and my my my is it good. The texture is buttery, blends well and is pigmented! Woohoo! The single eyeshadow on its own is Benefit's Buckle Bunny, which is an exact dupe, yay!!!

Next is Clinique's blusher in Precious Posy. Buttery in texture again, this blusher is a one-hit-wonder. The subtle gold flecks through it add a bronzing touch of gold to your cheeks and its just generally lovely product to have.

The lipstick standing out is Mac's Girl About Town lipstick. My lovely sister bought me this and loooordy is this nice. The texture is creamy, longlasting, pigmented but also smells amazing. Does anyone else like smelling lipsticks? No? Just me then. Perfect for brightening up a look after work!

The Lancome product is a concealer. Im not a huge fan of heavy bases.. and this concealer is quite thick in consistency, however this bad boy covers everything. and I mean everything. I use it with a tiny brush and dab on where I need it. It doesn't need powdering (but still works with powder), doesn't look cakey and also doesn't crease under the eyes woohoo! A great all-rounder.

The mascara is Mac's 3D Extra Dimension Black Lash and boy is it good. It lasts has a plastic wand and lasts all day, and if you want long, thick, full lashes, then this ones for you. I use this mascara then use a smaller, thinner mascara after such as YSL's Volume Effect Babydoll as it's not great at separating but it does the job!

Just a quickie but thought it would be fun!

Mamma knows best...

So there I was.. strolling.. (I mean sneaking) around my mum's bedroom and alas... I came across a delightful sight.... her make-up collection. *que angels singing*.

There comes a time in a girl's life where we all need to fess up that mamma's do, infact, know best. So I digress... Let's take a look into my mum's perfectly organised make-up collection, and find out what the old gal has to offer!

My mum is a b-e-a-utiful, no make-up kind of gal, yet she has some glories worth sharing. I asked her her top three must haves and here they are:

1) Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lipsticks - 'I like these because they are matte, yet they aren't drying on my lips. They also stay on really well and don't bleed'.

2) Laura Mercier Secret Concealer - 'I like this because it has a creamy texture which is great for under my eyes as it isn't drying, and the pink tones in it counteract any bags really well'.

3) Rimmel Sun Shimmer Bronzer - 'It does just what it says. I like the bronze with a subtle sparkle to reflect the light... and there's not too much shimmer to make me look like i'm going clubbing!'.

I always find it really interesting (because i'm nosey) to rummage through other people's makeup, and I thought this would be a really nice and quick sneak peak blog! I love you mama!

Enjoy!

The Wonders of Being a Master.

Afternoon..
Since I went all money bags on you last post... I decided I would back it up a little and write about something relatively affordable. Now. This might seem like a bit of a boring, onto the next type of product.... but wait until you try it...

The Maybelline Master Drama Cream eyeliner will be your new B.F.F. Seriously! I'm not an eyeliner kind of gal... but this thing is seriously great. First thing to mention is its £4.49 at Boots. Did someone say bargain?! Secondly.. This thing glides on. Over anything. We're talking eyeshadows from matte to glitter, you name it - it does it. The pencil is really great because it stays all day, and is also smudgeable! There is nothing worse than dragging a pencil over your oh - so - delicate eye and finding you get nothing but a watery eye and a blunt end! The pencil lasts on your waterline ALL day, and as a contact lense wearer, this baby is irritant free!

I wear the brown colour because it suits my eye colour more, but these babies are available in 4 different colours. I know this might seem a bit ridiculous.. all this fuss over a pencil.. but try it. Then get back to me ;)

Enjoy!

Lots of Love!

Heaven in the name of Giorgio Armani!

O.K. so.. I may have been neglecting my blog a little.. I've been busy alright?! But this post is definitely worth the wait if you ask me!

So lets get on with it... Feast your eyes on the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. Lord it is good. It is my new favourite make-up item and here is why:

The coverage is great, and gives you that good in-between look of flawless yet nothing too heavy.
For areas that need a litttttle bit more coverage, you can just use a little bit more and layer it up! The bottle dispenses the perfect amount of foundation, which is great.... less is more people! The most exciting part of the foundation is it's finish. Not too matte. Not too dewy. It really is like silk. My best friend Harriet has the worlds most amazing skin (we can't have it all can we?), and she complimented me on it... me... the one with 'bad skin'. It also lasts all day and doesnt oil up, but does however sit a little cakey on the skin over a primer!

The foundation is available in 21 shades... so theres definitely a colour to suit everyone! Lastly it doesn't have an SPF, so it means no white faced blurs when flash photography is used!!! So it is a little pricey, retailing in at £34.50, but seriously, this foundation is worth it if you are after that flawless face!

Enjoy!
